Saturday 6th April saw Beta Group, along with friends & family, return to Rossendale Rugby club as part of their annual company sponsorship. The 68 guests were invited to enjoy a day of full hospitality on the infamous ‘Beta Wagon’.
With the Beta head office and main operations firmly rooted in Bacup, the team were delighted that many of the national engineers could join them for a great afternoon in Rossendale. On arrival, the guests were warmly welcomed with a crisp glass of Prosecco, or a chilled ‘pint of the usual’, with everyone enjoying a moment to catch up with those who had travelled far and wide.
Everyone sat down to enjoy a three-course lunch followed by the home game match with sporting opponents, Alnwick Rugby Club. Luckily, the weather did not disappoint and it was a glorious afternoon on the wagon.
Speaking of the day, Sarah Harris, Administration Assistant, said:
“It was a brilliant day, as usual. We had beautiful sunshine, lots of good food and drinks and it was lovely to socialise outside of the office. The Beta Wagon is an event we always look forward to.”
Company Founder and Managing Director, Martin Lewis, is a former Rossendale RUFC 1st team scrumhalf and current supporter of the club. He saw the event as a continuing opportunity to bring the full Beta team together for a fun day out away from the office.
Regarding this year’s event, Martin said:
“I’m delighted to get so many of our staff and partners together for such an enjoyable day supporting Rossendale Rugby Club. I’m really pleased that we were the largest match day hospitality that Rossendale Rugby Club have had this season.”
Rossendale Rugby club secured a 37-26 win against the Northumberland side on the day, seemingly dominating both halves of the game and gaining their fifth consecutive win in recent matches. This places them 5th in the league table with one match to play.
